An accessibility checker for Google Docs, Slides and Sheets that fixes what it finds
Includewell checks the file you're working on against WCAG 2.2, takes you to each problem, fixes it in one click where that's safe, and gives you a report for your ADA Title II and Section 508 records.

What it fixes
Headings
Bold lines that only look like headings become real Heading 1 to 6. Skipped levels and empty headings are fixed, so the outline, screen readers and your downloaded PDF all see the structure.
Color contrast
Text that doesn't reach 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text) is recolored to the nearest color that passes, keeping its hue. Highlights, cell fills and slide backgrounds count.
Alt text
Every image, drawing, chart and video without a description, or with a file name as one. Type it in the sidebar; a caption under the image is suggested.
Link text
"Click here", "read more" and long web addresses get words that say where the link goes. The link keeps its address.
Lists and spacing
Lines typed with dashes or numbers become real lists. Rows of empty lines become paragraph spacing, so screen readers stop reading "blank, blank, blank".
Slides
Missing and duplicate slide titles, and reading order: objects are restacked so they're read top to bottom, without moving anything on the slide.
Sheets
Frozen header rows so column names are announced, empty headers, merged cells, default tab names, untitled charts, and color used as the only signal.
The report
Copy a plain-text report or CSV: every open issue with its WCAG criterion, what was dismissed after review and by whom, and the checks that passed.
How to check a Google Doc for accessibility
Open the Doc, then Extensions > Includewell > Check accessibility. Problems are sorted into Fix, Review and Tips. Click Show me to jump to one, or its fix button to fix it. Things Google doesn't let add-ons see, like whether a table's header row is pinned, are listed for a quick manual check, so nothing slips through. When you're done, use File > Download > PDF: Google Docs carries headings, lists, links, alt text and pinned header rows into the PDF's structure.
How to check Google Slides for accessibility
The same menu in Slides checks every slide for a title, alt text on images, charts and videos, contrast against the slide or shape background, link text, and reading order. Screen readers read a slide's objects in the order they were added; Includewell restacks them to follow the layout and refuses to when objects overlap, so what's drawn on top never changes.
Decorative images
Google Docs and Slides have no "decorative" setting for images. Mark an image Decorative in Includewell and the report records that it was reviewed, by whom and when, so your records show a decision instead of an open failure.

Privacy and permissions
- Includewell only opens the file you use it in (Google's "current file only" permissions). It can't see anything else in your Drive.
- The check runs inside Google Apps Script under your own account. No text, images or file names are sent to Great Work, and nothing goes to any AI service.
- We receive your Google account email (for your license) and, during the trial, a count of files checked.
- Dismissed issues are saved in the file's add-on storage with who dismissed them, so your team shares one review.

Questions
Does Google Docs have a built-in accessibility checker?
No. Docs, Slides and Sheets have alt text fields and screen reader support, but nothing that checks a file and lists problems. Includewell adds that, with fixes.
Will Includewell make my documents compliant?
It checks the WCAG 2.2 A and AA criteria that can be read from a file and fixes most of what it finds. Some things only a person can judge, like whether alt text is accurate or whether a video has captions, so keep a person in the loop. The report says what was checked.
Does it work for a whole school district?
Yes. An admin can install it for the domain from the Google Admin console, and the team plan unlocks everyone with an address at your domain at once.
Does it use AI?
No. Every check is a rule you can read in Help, and nothing about your files leaves Google.
