Email reminders from the dates in your Google Sheet.
Due Date Reminders emails the right people before each renewal, deadline, inspection or expiry date in a column: a week before, the day before, on the day, and every few days after until someone marks it done. It runs on its own every hour with the spreadsheet closed, and it never sends the same reminder twice.
Email us to get Due Date RemindersFree trial: 50 reminders or 14 days, whichever comes first. Then $4.99/month or $39/year. No charge unless you subscribe through checkout.
What it does
Any timing you need
30, 7 and 1 days before, on the day, a few days after, or any mix. Then keep following up every few days until the row is done.
The right person for each row
Point at an email column and each row goes to its own owner. Add fixed addresses, a copy to yourself, or both.
Messages that read like you wrote them
Use any column in the subject and message: {{Client}} renews on {{date}} ({{days}}). Line breaks and links are kept, and every email has a button that opens the row.
Done means done
Tick a checkbox, set a status, or fill in any column, and that row stops getting reminders.
One email or one per row
Send a message per row, or one combined email per person listing everything due that day.
Slack, Discord, Google Chat
Paste an incoming-webhook link and reminders also post to your team's channel.
Built not to fail quietly
The most common complaint about the reminder add-on most people use is that it stopped sending and nobody noticed. Ours is designed around that:
- Runs with the sheet closed. Google's hourly add-on timer does the work, not your open browser tab.
- Never twice. Each reminder is remembered by the row's content, so sorting, inserting or deleting rows doesn't resend anything.
- Catches up. If Google skips a run, anything due in the last 3 days still goes out, marked as late.
- Tells you when something breaks. A renamed tab or column gets you an email the same day (at most one a day), and it keeps retrying.
- Proof of life. The sidebar shows when it last checked and flags a missing hourly timer with a one-click fix. The optional weekly summary lists overdue and upcoming rows every week.
- Easy to see. Preview every reminder scheduled for the next 30 days, send yourself a test, and optionally log each send in a "Reminder sent" column.
Set up in two minutes
- Install the add-on and open the Google Sheet with your dates (one column of dates, column names in the first row).
- Choose Extensions > Due Date Reminders > Open reminders and click New reminder. It detects the date and email columns.
- Pick when to remind and who gets it. Write the message, clicking column names to insert them.
- Click Preview next 30 days and Send test to me.
- Tick "I confirm these recipients expect these reminders" and click Save.
An example message:
Hi {{Owner}},
{{Item}} renews on {{date}}, {{days}}.
Cost: {{Annual cost}}
When it's done, tick "Renewed" in the sheet: {{link}}
Google runs add-on timers once an hour, so a reminder set for 8 AM goes out between 8:00 and 8:59 in the spreadsheet's time zone. Emails are sent from your own Google account and count toward Google's daily sending limit (shown in the sidebar).
Stopping is one click
Pause or delete any reminder in the sidebar. Extensions > Due Date Reminders > Stop all reminders in this spreadsheet works for any editor, even if the sidebar won't open. Pause or resume my reminders everywhere switches off everything you own in every spreadsheet. Every email says how to stop it.
Pricing
- Free trial first. 50 reminders or 14 days, whichever comes first. Test sends, previews and weekly summaries don't count. No card needed for the trial.
- What a plan includes: unlimited reminders, rows and spreadsheets for one Google account, every feature above, and email support from a person.
- Before the trial ends you get one email saying so. When it ends your reminders pause and you get one more email. Nothing is charged automatically; you pay only if you choose a plan in Stripe checkout.
- Prices are in US dollars. If sales tax or VAT applies where you live, checkout shows it before you pay.
- Cancel any time from Extensions > Due Date Reminders > Upgrade or manage billing > Manage billing. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- UK and EU customers: you can cancel within 14 days of subscribing for a full refund. Email hello@greatwork.company or cancel in Manage billing and ask for the refund; one step, no questions.
Compared with other reminder add-ons
| What people say about others | Here |
|---|---|
| "It worked, then it just stopped sending. Really embarrassing." | You get an email the same day something breaks, the sidebar shows the last check, and the weekly summary proves it's running. |
| "It only sends when the app is open." | Runs from Google's hourly timer with the spreadsheet closed. |
| "The email text is all strung onto one line." | Line breaks, blank lines and links are kept exactly as you type them. |
| "Please add a column value in the email to tell them apart." | Any column can go in the subject and message. |
| "Unnecessary emails every day and no obvious way to turn it off." | Each reminder goes out once; Pause and Stop all are one click, and every email says how to stop it. |
| "Says free, then my free plan expired on install." | The listing, sidebar and this page all show the trial and the price. The trial starts with 50 reminders, and you're never charged without going through checkout yourself. |
| "Where's the Discord integration?" | Slack, Discord and Google Chat are built in. |
| "Support never answered." | A person replies within one business day at hello@greatwork.company. |
Permissions, in plain words
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| See and edit the spreadsheet the add-on is used in | Read your dates and the columns in your message, store your reminder settings in that spreadsheet, and (if you turn it on) write the "Reminder sent" column. It can't open any other file. |
| Send email as you | Deliver reminders from your account to the people you chose. |
| Run when you're not present | Check for due reminders every hour while the spreadsheet is closed. |
| Display content in Google apps | Show the sidebar, menu and dialogs. |
| Connect to an external service | Check your trial or subscription at addons.greatwork.company (only your email address and a count are sent, never spreadsheet data), and post to a Slack, Discord or Google Chat webhook if you add one. |
| See your email address | Identify your license and send you notices about your reminders. |
