Privacy: Due Date Reminders
Last updated 2026-10-01. This page adds add-on specific detail to the Great Work privacy policy, which covers the licensing and billing service.
Google data the add-on accesses
- The spreadsheet you use it in (scope
spreadsheets.currentonly): the values of the sheet you choose for a reminder (its dates, the columns used in your message, the email column and the "done" column) and the list of sheet names. If you turn on the "Reminder sent" column, it writes a short note (date, which reminder, recipients) into that column of the same sheet. It cannot open any other file in your Drive. - Your email address (
userinfo.email): to identify your license, to mark which reminders you own, and to send you copies and notices about your reminders. - Sending email as you (
script.send_mail): reminders are sent from your Google account to the recipients you set, and appear in your Sent mail. The add-on cannot read your inbox.
How it is used and where it is stored
- Cell values are read inside Google's Apps Script environment when a reminder is checked, turned into the email you wrote, and sent to your recipients. They are not copied to Great Work servers.
- Reminder settings (name, sheet, columns, timing, recipients, subject, message, chat link) and a log of the last 80 sends and problems are stored in the spreadsheet's own add-on storage (Apps Script document properties). Anyone who can edit the spreadsheet and runs the add-on can see, pause or delete them.
- To avoid sending a reminder twice, the add-on keeps a list of short one-way fingerprints of reminders already sent (not the cell contents themselves) in the same storage. Entries are deleted automatically a few days after they can no longer matter, and all of a reminder's entries are deleted when you delete the reminder.
- A few per-user settings (pause everywhere, the list of spreadsheets where you have reminders, whether you've seen the review prompt, a daily test-send counter, whether you've had the trial-ending email) are stored in your Apps Script user properties inside Google.
- The only data sent to Great Work (addons.greatwork.company) is your Google account email address, the add-on name and a count of reminders sent, to run the trial and your subscription. No spreadsheet contents, recipient addresses or message text ever reach us.
Chat channels (optional)
If you paste a Slack, Discord or Google Chat incoming-webhook link into a reminder, the reminder text you wrote (including any cell values you put in it) is posted to that link, which belongs to your workspace in that service. That service's own privacy terms apply to what it receives. The add-on can only post to links starting with hooks.slack.com, discord.com or discordapp.com webhooks, or chat.googleapis.com, and never posts anywhere unless you add a link. Remove the link from the reminder to stop.
Sharing
We don't sell, rent or share Google user data. Reminders go only to the recipients and chat links you configure. Payment details go to Stripe, never to us.
Limited Use
Due Date Reminders' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use Google user data for advertising, no person at Great Work reads your spreadsheet data, and we don't use it to train AI models.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for having permission to email the people in your spreadsheet. Reminders are sent from your account and count toward Google's daily sending limit; we can't raise that limit.
Deleting your data
- Delete a reminder in the sidebar to remove its settings and its sent-fingerprint list, or use Stop all to pause every reminder in a spreadsheet. The "Reminder sent" column is ordinary sheet data; delete the column if you don't want it.
- Before uninstalling, delete your reminders (or use Stop all) in each spreadsheet so nothing else is sent, then uninstall from Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons.
- To delete your license record (email, use count, subscription ids), email hello@greatwork.company from that account. We delete it within 30 days, apart from billing records the law requires us to keep.
