How do I save many Gmail emails as PDF at once?

Install Sheafwell from the Chrome Web Store, click its toolbar button, sign in with Google, pick a label or type a Gmail search, leave the conversations you want ticked, choose one PDF per conversation or one merged PDF, then Check and Save. You get a ZIP or a single PDF.

Are attachments included?

Yes. Save them as files next to each PDF, embed them inside the PDF, or list their names only. Pictures pasted into an email appear in the PDF.

Can it save emails to Google Drive automatically?

Yes, on the Plus plan. An automatic archive saves a Gmail search as PDFs into a Drive folder every hour, every 6 hours or every day while Chrome is open, and updates a conversation's PDF when a reply arrives.

Does Sheafwell send my emails to a server?

No. Emails are read from Gmail into the extension on your computer, turned into PDFs there, and saved to your computer or your own Google Drive. Great Work's licensing server only learns your Google account email and how many emails a job saved.

How it works

1. Pick the conversations

A label, a date range like "Last year", or any Gmail search such as from:ann@maplestreet.example has:attachment. Untick what you don't need.

2. Choose the PDF

One PDF per conversation or one merged PDF. Attachments next to it, inside it, or listed. Letter or A4, your time zone.

3. Check, then save

You see how many emails the job saves before any email is read. Then a ZIP or PDF downloads, or the files land in your Drive folder.

PDFs that hold up as records

Every email's From, To, Cc and date at the top, then the message with its formatting, lists, links and pictures.
Dates in the time zone you choose, with the UTC offset, so the printout matches the original.
Files named by date ("2026-09-29 Lease renewal.pdf") so a folder of conversations sorts itself.
Selectable, searchable text for Latin, Greek and Cyrillic. Other scripts (Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Thai and more) are kept as images of the text, so nothing goes missing.
Quoted reply history left in, or taken out when it's already earlier in the conversation.

An archive that keeps itself (Plus)

Save any Gmail search to a Drive folder every hour, every 6 hours or every day while Chrome is open.
When a conversation gets a new reply, its PDF is updated in place. Drive keeps the earlier version.
The toolbar button shows how many conversations were archived since you last looked.

Your email stays yours

PDFs are made inside your browser and saved only to your computer or to folders Sheafwell creates in your Google Drive.
No email content ever reaches Great Work. Our licensing server only learns your Google account email and how many emails a job saved.
Read-only Gmail access: Sheafwell can't send, delete or change email. Drive access is limited to the folders and files Sheafwell creates. No access to any website.
Pictures that live on the web aren't downloaded, because loading them can tell the sender you opened the email.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Privacy policy.

What you buy: a subscription to use Sheafwell with one Google account (or the license key you receive), at the price shown at checkout, billed monthly or yearly by Stripe until you cancel. Prices exclude any sales tax or VAT shown at checkout.
Cancel any time in Plans and billing, Manage billing (or at addons.greatwork.company/billing). You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds: if Sheafwell isn't right for you, email hello@greatwork.company within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. We also refund double or mistaken charges.
Right to cancel (UK and EU): you have 14 days from purchase to cancel and get a refund. By saving emails during those 14 days you ask us to start the service right away; any refund then covers the full amount anyway under the refund rule above.
The free trial is limited to 25 saved emails per Google account.
