Guidelark privacy policy
Last updated 2026-10-07. Guidelark is a Figma plugin made by Great Work LLC, 651 N Broad St Suite 206, Middletown, DE 19709 (hello@greatwork.company).
Your files
Guidelark reads the library in the scope you choose (the selection, the page or the whole file): components and their names, descriptions, documentation links, properties, variants, annotations, sizes and layout values, the variables and styles they use, frames named Do, Don't or Caution, and your local variables and styles. It asks Figma for PNG pictures of components, variants and those frames. It never changes anything in your file except its own plugin data (below). Every docs file is written inside the plugin, on your computer. With a ZIP export nothing leaves your computer. Nothing from your file is ever sent to us.
GitHub pull requests
Only if you choose a GitHub pull request: the generated docs files and pictures, a commit message, a branch name and the pull request text are sent from your computer straight to api.github.com, to the repository you entered, using the GitHub token you pasted in. The token is kept in Figma's plugin storage on your computer, is never written into the Figma file and is never sent to us. Remove it any time from the Export tab. GitHub's own privacy statement applies to what you send to your repository.
What the plugin stores
- In Figma's plugin storage on your computer (figma.clientStorage): your options, your trial counter, your license key and a cached copy of your license status, and your GitHub token if you saved one.
- In your Figma file, shared with everyone who opens it: the docs settings (format, title, introduction, accent colour, what to include), the GitHub repository and folder, and a record of the last export (the ids and names of components, tokens and styles with a fingerprint of each, the version and the changelog history).
What we receive
- License checks (addons.greatwork.company): your license key, the product id, your Figma user id and display name (so the buyer can see which accounts use their seats), and your IP address in server logs kept for up to 14 days.
- Purchases: Stripe collects your name, email and payment details on its own checkout page. We store your email, the Stripe customer and subscription ids, your license key (as a one-way hash) and its activations.
We keep purchase and license records while your license exists and for as long as tax law requires afterwards. Email hello@greatwork.company to see or delete your data.
Third parties
- stripe.com: payments and billing portal
- resend.com: sends your license key and billing links by email
- DigitalOcean (New York): hosts addons.greatwork.company
- github.com: only when you open a pull request, with your own account
No analytics, advertising or AI services are used, and we never sell data. The docs you export are yours: where you host them is between you and your host.
Changes
We'll update the date above and, for material changes, email license holders.
