Manage dozens of Google Sheets tabs at once
Tabherd hides, shows, renames, sorts, protects, colors, copies and deletes many tabs in one go. You see every change before it happens, and you can undo it after.

What it does
Tick the tabs, or select every hidden tab in one click, and hide or show them together.
Find and replace (regular expressions too), patterns like {name} 2026 or Week {n}, change case, or paste a list of new names.
Week 2 before Week 10. Or sort by tab color, hidden last, reversed, or drag your own order. Sort just the tabs you pick.
Warn before editing, or let only you and the owner edit. Remove protection from many tabs at once.
One copy of a template for every student, client or week in a list, named from the row, with cells filled in.
A first tab with a link to every tab, updated whenever you like.
See it first, undo it after
Every change starts as a preview: each tab, before and after, with warnings such as formulas in other tabs that point at a tab you're about to delete. Nothing changes until you click Apply.
Then the change goes into History with an Undo button. Undo even brings back deleted tabs (Tabherd keeps a hidden backup until the change drops out of the last 10). If someone renamed or recolored a tab after your change, undo leaves that tab alone and tells you, so it never overwrites their work. Undo works even after a trial or plan ends.
One tab per student, client or week
- Make a template tab: a worksheet, a graphic organizer, an invoice, a weekly log.
- Keep your list in another tab with a header row (First, Last, Email...), or paste names into the sidebar.
- Choose Copy a template tab per row, name the copies with a pattern like
{Last}, {First}, and fill cells such asB1 = {First} {Last}. - Preview, Apply. Up to 200 copies per run, placed right after the template. Hide the template afterwards if you like.
Get started
- Install Tabherd, open a spreadsheet and choose Extensions > Tabherd > Open Tabherd.
- Tick tabs in the list. Search, All, Visible and Hidden help you pick many at once.
- Choose a change, click Preview, check it, click Apply. Undo is in History, and in the menu as Undo the last change.
Pricing
About $1.58 a month. Every feature, in any number of spreadsheets, for one Google account.
Same features, billed monthly.
Lifetime access for one Google account. No renewals.
Team plan: everyone at your company's Google Workspace domain.
30 days or 60 applied changes, whichever comes first. A change is one click of Apply, however many tabs it touches. Previews and undo are free. No card needed.
No surprise charges. We never charge you unless you start a checkout yourself. The add-on shows your trial status and these prices from the first minute. When the trial ends, Apply asks you to pick a plan; nothing is charged, your tabs aren't changed, and undo keeps working.
Renewal. Monthly, annual and team plans renew automatically at the same price until you cancel. Cancel any time from Plans and billing in the add-on, in one step. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. The lifetime plan is a single payment and never renews.
Right to cancel (UK and EU). If you're a consumer in the UK or EU, you can cancel within 14 days of buying and get a full refund. Email hello@greatwork.company or cancel in Plans and billing and reply to the receipt.
Mistakes. Charged twice or by accident? Email us and we'll refund it.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number.
Why switch
| The usual problem | What Tabherd does |
|---|---|
| Bulk changes happen blind, and a wrong click can't be taken back | A tab-by-tab preview before, and Undo after, for every change, deletes included. |
| Sorting puts Week 10 before Week 2 | Natural sort, plus sort by color, hidden last, or your own dragged order. |
| Deleting a tab silently breaks formulas elsewhere | The preview counts the formulas that point at it and suggests hiding instead. |
| Making 30 copies of a worksheet, one per student, by hand | One copy per row of your roster, named and filled in, in one step. |
| Asks to see all your spreadsheets | Works only in the spreadsheet you open it in. |
Help
Undo skipped some tabs.
Undo only reverses a tab that still looks the way Tabherd left it. If someone renamed, recolored, hid or showed it again later, undo leaves it alone and lists it, so their change isn't lost.
I undid a delete, but some formulas still show #REF!.
When a tab is deleted, Google Sheets rewrites formulas that pointed at it to #REF!, and bringing the tab back doesn't change them back. That's why the delete preview counts those formulas first. Hiding a tab keeps them working.
What are the hidden "Tabherd undo backup" tabs?
Copies of tabs you deleted, kept so you can undo. Tabherd removes them when the change drops out of history (the last 10 changes), or right away with Clear history. They never show up in Tabherd's tab list.
What counts as a trial use?
One click of Apply, however many tabs it changes. Previews and undo don't count.

Privacy
- Google data it accesses: the spreadsheet you open it in: tab names, order, colors, visibility and protection, to show and change them; cell values only when you copy a template per row (to read the list), build a table of contents, check formulas before a delete, or check whether a copy was edited before undoing it. It can't open your other files, your Drive or your Gmail.
- Where things are stored: the change history (what each change did to which tab, so it can be undone) lives in the spreadsheet's own add-on storage; hidden backup tabs for undoing deletes live in the spreadsheet itself. Your license status lives in Google's add-on storage for your account.
- What reaches Great Work: your Google account email, the product id and a count of trial uses, for billing. Tab names and spreadsheet contents never leave Google. See the full privacy policy.
