Everything a location list needs

Built for sales territories, delivery lists, store locators, field service and research data.

Bulk geocoding

Thousands of rows in batches of 250. Use one address column or combine street, city, state and ZIP.

A status on every row

OK, Approximate, or No match, plus an accuracy score and match type, so you know which rows to check.

Stop and resume

Finished rows are skipped next time, so you never pay twice. Duplicate addresses are looked up once.

Map preview and share links

Pins grouped where they are dense, colored by any column. Share an unlisted link that works for 90 days.

Distance and drive time

Straight-line distance at no cost, or driving distance and time, from one address or between two columns.

Reverse geocoding

Turn latitude and longitude back into street addresses.

How to geocode addresses in Google Sheets

  1. Install the add-on, open your sheet, and go to Extensions > Geocode & Map Addresses > Open geocoder.
  2. Pick the column with the full address, or the street, city, state and ZIP columns. The add-on suggests them for you.
  3. Click Check rows. You see how many lookups the job uses and how many you have, before anything runs.
  4. Run it. Latitude, Longitude, Matched address, Accuracy, Match type and Status are added to the right of your data. Your columns and formulas are not changed.
  5. Click See them on a map, or use the Distance tab for drive times.

Only want to try it? Choose Try it on sample data from the menu and it builds a sample tab for you.

What counts as a lookup

One matched address or coordinate is one lookup. Rows with no match are free. The same address twice in one run counts once. Driving distance uses 2 lookups per row. Straight-line distance and maps use none. Monthly lookups reset on the 1st of each month (UTC) and do not roll over; pack lookups never expire.

Renewal and cancellation

Plans renew automatically at the same price until you cancel. Cancel any time in one step from Plans & billing in the add-on (Stripe Customer Portal); you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. UK and EU customers can cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund: email hello@greatwork.company. Prices are in US dollars; sales tax or VAT may be added where it applies.

Questions

Do I need a Google Maps API key?

No. Lookups run through our service. There is no API key, no Google Cloud billing account and no separate login.

How accurate is it?

Most street addresses in the US match to the building or the right spot on the block. Each row gets an Accuracy score (0 to 1) and a Match type. If only the street or city could be found, the row is marked Approximate so you can check it.

Which countries are covered?

The United States, Canada and Mexico. Worldwide addresses are coming; email us if you need them.

How many rows can it handle?

Any size your sheet can hold. Jobs run in batches of 250 rows, show progress, and can be stopped and resumed.

Will it change my data?

No. Results go into new columns at the right of your data. Existing cells, formulas and formatting are never changed.

Which permissions does it ask for?

Four, all in Google's lowest-risk group: access to the spreadsheet it is open in (no other files), showing its sidebar, connecting to our lookup service, and your email address so your plan follows you between sheets.

What happens to my addresses?

Only the columns you choose to look up are sent, to our service and our geocoding provider, to find the coordinates. We never sell data. Read the privacy policy.

Can I convert latitude and longitude to an address?

Yes, with the Reverse tab. Pick the latitude and longitude columns (or one column with both) and run it.

How do I get help?

Email hello@greatwork.company. A person replies within one business day.
