One row in your sheet, one folder in Google Drive.
Sproutfold builds Drive folders from the rows of a Google Sheet: one for each client, student, project or new hire. It copies your templates into each folder with names filled from the row, shares it with the people in the row, and writes the links back. You see the whole plan before anything is made, and you can undo any run.

What it does
Folder trees from columns
Type a path like Clients/{Client}/{Year}. Rows that share a folder share it; folders made by earlier runs are reused.
Templates, named per row
Copy Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDFs or a whole template folder with its subfolders into every row's folder, named like {Client} engagement letter.
Sharing without surprises
Viewer, Commenter or Editor, or a role per row. Google's sharing email is off unless you turn it on. Addresses outside your domain are skipped unless you allow them.
Links back in the sheet
Every row gets its folder link, links to its files and a status line saying what was made and shared.
Safe to run again
Build only the new rows, or fill in what's missing in every row (a template you added later, a deleted file). Nothing is made twice.
Hundreds of rows, and undo
Big sheets run in batches you can stop and continue. Undo any run: its shares are removed and what it made goes to Drive's trash.
See every folder before it's made
The preview is a free dry run. It lists each row's folder path, every copy with its final name and every share with its role, and flags the things that go wrong in bulk: an address outside your domain, an empty cell that would leave a gap in a name, two rows pointing at the same folder, text that isn't an email address.
Copy whole template folders
Pick a template folder and Sproutfold copies its subfolders and files into every row, up to 10 levels deep. Names inside it can use your columns too: a file called {Client} invoice log becomes "Acme Fabrication invoice log".
Share quietly, at the right role
Undo any run
Every run is listed. Undo removes the shares it added and moves the folders and files it made to Drive's trash (restorable for 30 days). It never touches anything that was there before the run.

Privacy
- Sproutfold can only open the spreadsheet you use it in (
spreadsheets.currentonly) and, in Drive, the folder and templates you pick plus what it creates (drive.file). It can't see the rest of your Drive, and it never opens your documents' contents. - Everything runs inside Google. Our server receives your email address and a count of rows built to check your plan, nothing from your files.
- We don't sell data, use it for ads, or use it to train AI. Sproutfold's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Questions
How do I start?
In a Sheet: Extensions > Sproutfold > Open builder. Choose the folder to build in, type a folder path like {Client} and press Preview.
Why does it ask me to pick a template folder's contents?
Google gives Sproutfold only what you pick. Picking a folder shares the folder itself, not what's already inside, so you also select its files (Ctrl+A) once. The sidebar shows what Sproutfold can see.
Does it fill in the text inside the copied documents?
No. It names files and folders from your columns and leaves their contents as they are, which is why it never needs access to your documents.
Can it build inside a Shared drive?
Yes, if you can add files there. Sharing rules your administrator set still apply.
What does it add to my sheet?
Folder, Files and Build status columns, a hidden Sproutfold log tab listing what each run made (that's how re-runs and undo work), and a Sproutfold preview tab if you ask for one.
