Texwell LaTeX Equations: help

Get started

In Word or PowerPoint, go to Insert and click LaTeX Equation. Type LaTeX in the box (or click the symbol buttons) and watch the preview. Press Insert or Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac).

Word

• Word equation (default) puts in a real Word equation: it sits on the text line, prints sharp, and Word's own equation tools can edit it too.
• Picture puts in an image with the LaTeX in its alt text. Use it when you want exactly the LaTeX look, or when the document goes to an app that doesn't show Word equations.
• In line, Own line (centered), or Numbered (centered with (1), (2), (3) at the right margin).
• To refer to a numbered equation, open Numbering and references, pick the equation and click Insert reference. After you move or delete equations, click Renumber (also on the ribbon). Numbers and references update together.
• Convert LaTeX in this document turns $...$, $$...$$, \(...\) and \[...\] pasted from ChatGPT, Copilot, Overleaf or Markdown into Word equations. Prices like $5 are left alone.

PowerPoint

Equations go on the current slide as sharp vector pictures, one under the other. Resize and move them freely. Click one to edit it: Texwell keeps your size and position.

Edit an equation

Click an equation Texwell inserted. Its LaTeX loads into the box; change it and click Update equation. Editing doesn't use a trial equation.

Chemistry

Write formulas and reactions with \ce{...}: \ce{2H2 + O2 -> 2H2O}, \ce{SO4^2-}, \ce{A <=> B}, \ce{^{14}_{6}C}.

Library

Click Save to library to keep an equation you reuse. Export the library to a file and import it on another computer.

Plans

Trial: 25 equations or 14 days, whichever comes first, no card needed. Then $14.99/month or $119/year per person; teams buy seats at the same price per person. Editing, references and renumbering never count against the trial.
