Open and close your Google Form on a schedule
Formhours opens your form at the hours you pick, every week or just once. It skips holidays, caps each session, and tells anyone who arrives early exactly when it opens next.

What it does
Every Monday and Wednesday 3 to 4 PM, or open Monday 9 AM and close Friday 5 PM. Overnight hours work too.
Skip single days or whole breaks, and run only between a start and end date.
12 sign-ups per opening, then closed until next time. Add a total limit; whichever comes first wins.
Different text before, between, when full and after the last session, with the next opening time and time zone.
A response a few seconds after closing, or one over the limit, is listed for you or removed.
For the unexpected. The schedule takes over again at the next scheduled change.
A Coming up list shows the next openings and skipped days before you turn anything on.
Optional line in the description: "Open until 4:00 PM. 3 spots left."
What Google Forms does on its own
Since January 2026 Google Forms can close a form on one date or after one number of responses. It can't open a form at a set time, repeat every week, skip holidays, cap each session or say when the form opens next. That's what Formhours adds.
How to set it up
- Install Formhours, open your form (published), then Extensions > Formhours > Schedule and limits.
- Pick the days and hours, or a single opening and closing time.
- Optional: term dates, holidays, limits, your closed messages.
- Check the Coming up list, then Turn on. You see what happens to the form right away, and the price, before anything changes.
If you set a close date in Forms' own Published panel, remove it so two schedules don't disagree.
What we fixed
We read the reviews of the form schedulers people use today. These are the complaints, and what Formhours does instead.
- "Opens up to an hour late." Hourly checkers can be up to 60 minutes off. Formhours points a trigger at each scheduled change, and responses that arrive after closing time are caught either way.
- "Daylight saving broke my schedule." Times are wall-clock times in your time zone. 9:00 AM stays 9:00 AM when the clocks change.
- "It wants access to my calendars." Formhours doesn't touch your calendar, Drive or email. It can only see the form you open it in.
- "It always says time is over." The sidebar says what the form is doing and why: open until 4:00 PM, closed until Monday 3:00 PM, or full for this session.
- "The trial gave me one try." 14 days or 30 scheduled openings, all features, no card.
- "I didn't know it was a trial." The price is on this page, in the add-on and in every trial email. You are only charged if you start a checkout yourself.
- "Spam after installing." We never send you marketing email.
- "Support never answered." A person replies within one business day at hello@greatwork.company.

Questions
Can I schedule a Google Form to open at a specific time?
Not with Google Forms alone; it can only close on its own. With Formhours, pick an opening time (and a closing time if you want) and the form opens by itself.
Can the form be open only during certain hours every week?
Yes. Pick the days and hours, for example Monday and Wednesday 3 to 4 PM. Add several openings, overnight hours, a term start and end, and days to skip.
Can I limit how many people respond per session?
Yes. A per-session limit closes the form until the next opening; a total limit closes it for good. The count for each session starts fresh.
What do people see when the form is closed?
Your message for that situation: not open yet, between sessions, session full, total reached, or schedule over. Add {{next_open}} and it shows the next opening, for example "Wednesday, October 14 at 3:00 PM CDT".
What if someone submits right as it closes?
Google Forms accepts a response that was already on its way. Formhours checks every response when it arrives; one that came after closing time or over the limit is listed in the sidebar (or removed right away, if you choose that).
Does it work in my time zone?
Yes. Formhours uses your computer's time zone and keeps times steady across daylight saving changes. Closed messages include the time zone so respondents elsewhere aren't confused.
What does it need permission for?
To open, close and update the form it's installed in, run when you're not there (so the form opens on time), send alerts and trial notices to you from your account, show its sidebar, and check your plan with our licensing server. It can't read your email, calendar or Drive, and it never emails your respondents.
Privacy
Your responses stay in your form. Formhours stores its settings and log inside the form and only looks at response times, never answers. Our licensing server only sees your Google account email and how many scheduled openings you've used. Formhours' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Full policy: Privacy · Terms.
