QR code tickets and door check-in, right from your Google Sheet
Doorstub gives every row of your guest list, or every Google Form registration, its own QR ticket, emails it from your Gmail, and lets your volunteers check people in with their own phones.

How it works
1. Your list, as is
Open Doorstub in the Sheet with your guests, or in your Google Form's response sheet. It finds the name and email columns and only adds its own columns to the right.
2. Tickets by email
Each guest gets an email from your address with their QR ticket inside and attached, plus anything from your sheet: table number, dietary needs, which days they booked.
3. Scan at the door
Volunteers open a link on their phones and scan. No app, no Google account. Check-ins show up in your sheet as they happen.
Check guests in with any phone
- Green, orange, red. Welcome; already checked in (with the time and who scanned it, across every phone); or refused (cancelled ticket, wrong day, not a valid code).
- No QR? Search the guest's name or type the short code on the ticket.
- Bad Wi-Fi? Phones keep scanning and sync when they're back online.
- Laptop at the desk? Type names in the sidebar, or plug in a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner.
- Multi-day events and workshops. List your sessions, say who can enter which, and staff pick the session they're working.
QR tickets for Google Forms registrations
Turn on automatic tickets and every new form response gets its ticket by email within a minute. If you run out of ticket credits, new registrations wait in the sheet (nobody is lost) and you get one email that day telling you so.
Gmail sending limits, handled
Google lets an account send about 100 emails a day (1,500 on Google Workspace). Doorstub shows how many you have left before you click send, queues the rest, and sends them automatically once the limit resets.
Pricing
Only issuing a ticket uses a credit: 1 credit per attendee. Emailing, resending, cancelling tickets, scanning and check-ins are always free. Prices are in US dollars, before any sales tax.
| Ticket pack | Price | Per ticket |
|---|---|---|
| 100 tickets | $25 | $0.25 |
| 300 tickets | $69 | $0.23 |
| 1,000 tickets | $129 | $0.13 |
| 5,000 tickets | $449 | $0.09 |
Packs are a one-time payment. Tickets never expire and work for any event in any of your sheets.
Organizer plan
$29 a month or $290 a year, with 100 tickets included every month (unused tickets don't roll over). Add packs whenever you need more. For people who run events every month.
Free trial
10 tickets or 30 days, whichever comes first, with every feature. There is no free-forever plan, and nothing is charged until you choose a pack or plan.
Renewals, cancelling and refunds
- The Organizer plan renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. Cancel any time from Billing > Manage billing in the sidebar; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Ticket packs don't renew. They're charged once.
- UK and EU customers can cancel within 14 days of buying for a full refund, as long as no tickets from that purchase were used.
- Charged by mistake or twice? Email us and we'll refund it.
Privacy
Your guest list stays in your Google account. Ticket emails are sent by Google from your account. If you turn on phone scanning, the guest list for the phones (names and ticket codes, no email addresses) is encrypted inside your sheet before it leaves, with a key that's only in your scanner link. We store the encrypted copy and check-in times, and delete them when you turn scanning off or after 90 days without activity. Full privacy details.
Questions
Do my volunteers need a Google account or an app?
No. They open the scanner link in the phone's browser. Anyone with the link can check people in, so share it with staff only. You can make a new link at any time, which stops the old one.
Can guests show the ticket on their phone?
Yes, or printed. The QR is large and works from cracked screens and creased paper.
What happens with copied rows or the same person registering twice?
Doorstub warns you about rows sharing a ticket and about repeated email addresses before you send.
Does it work with Excel or other form tools?
It works in Google Sheets. Any list you can paste or import into a Sheet works.
