The right word, without leaving Google Docs

Put the cursor in a word and Synwell shows its synonyms grouped by meaning, each with a definition and an example. Click one and it swaps in with the same tense, capitals and formatting as the word you wrote. Rhymes, a word finder and an overused-word check are one tab away.

One click, in the right form

Look up "running" and click "sprint": you get "sprinting". "children" becomes "kids", "bigger" becomes "larger", "went" becomes "traveled". "Fast" becomes "Quick" and "FAST" becomes "QUICK". Bold, italic, font, size, color and links stay, and Edit > Undo puts the original back. Click the arrow next to any suggestion to look that word up too; Synwell still replaces the word in your document.

After clicking working, the document reads: the new checkout is working smoothly, still in bold.

Built in, so it doesn't break

Other thesaurus add-ons look every word up on their own website, and their reviews fill with "connection error" and "doesn't work anymore". Synwell carries its whole dictionary inside the add-on: about 52,000 entries and 53,000 meanings, and rhymes for 47,000 words. There's no outside site to go down.

Synwell only opens the Doc you use it in. No AI, no tracking, and your writing never leaves Google. The only thing Great Work sees is your Google account email for your license.
